Thank-you for taking a moment to consider the Pavilion as the place to hold your upcoming event. Our goal is to create a comfortable atmosphere in which to hold your function that will produce a memorable experience. Whether your event is a sports related function; small birthday party; large wedding reception, large company party or even a community event drawing thousands of people, we aim to meet and exceed your expectations of our facility. We are the only facility in the greater Greenville area that can accommodate over 1500 people for an event with a meal served if you desire. If there is a foodservice aspect to your event, we offer many event “hosting” options for your consideration. For a no-hassle approach you can choose from our three caterers to serve your event. Or you may decide to do it yourself for a “non-catered” event. Bar service works the same way- either our approved bar service provider or a do-it-yourself “house” bar. Our overall vision for the Pavilion is to offer memorable experiences and active lifestyle choices in the areas of sports, entertainment and events for families in the area. Our mission is to be the best multi-use facility committed to enriching peoples lives through the positive development of the youth in all of us.
To accomplish such a broad array of sports & events the Pavilion has two indoor surfaces which are stacked on top of each other (smooth surface & turf) and we alternate these surfaces seasonally at various times of the year. This surface is located inside the large Pavilion and is inside of a hockey rink wall system (dasher boards) and gives us approximately 14,400 sq. ft. of floor area (80ft. x 180 ft.) for events. From January through April the base surface is exposed which is our artificial turf and during this season we offer mostly turf-oriented sports and as such the facility has very limited availability for rental hall type events. To learn more about our sports offerings visit the Pavilion Sports pages on this website. We do hold some events on this turf surface but these are special circumstances. If your desired event date falls within this winter time period, call us and let’s see if we can accommodate your event on the turf. From May through December the turf is covered with our smooth surface sports and event flooring. This is when we are able to host the usual rental hall type events and we also offer in-line hockey, basketball & volleyball during this time of year. The rink wall system inside the Pavilion has several entrance gates which are used for event traffic to enter/exit the facility. The Pavilion is a barrier-free facility for handicapped access. We also have overhead doors at each end (12 ft.x 12 ft) so larger equipment can enter the hall. The interior lighting systems in the building can be individually controlled so we are capable of setting just the right light level to create the “atmosphere” you desire for your event.
When it’s time for a more formal event like a wedding reception, we install a visually appealing cloth curtain system around the rink and instantly the whole room is turned into a more formal atmosphere. You don’t even realize you are within a hockey rink. We then bring out the guest tables (60” rounds with 8/table) and chairs (black on grey frame- both molded plastic & cushioned) and the skirted serving and accessory tables (8 ft. rectangle) and set them in the configuration you desire according to the type of event and how many guests will be in attendance. Additional types of tables and service items are available for head tables, food service, cake and punch service, gifts, greeting/check-in, etc. We have a table skirting (light silver), a variety of table linens and decorations (ivy vines, etc.) available. With the tables and other event details all in place and the light levels set lower, even though the floor has some line markings for sports you hardly notice you on a sports floor.
Our bar service area consists of a portable bar with supplies and 2 portable coolers (one two-keg with tap for beer & a can/bottle cooler). The portable bar is typically stationed by the food service area and is accented with overhead lighting. We also have a decorated gazebo which works nicely for a cake and/or punch service area.
We also have a generous sized stage (12 ft.x 24 ft.) with a professional sound and light system available for your event. The Pavilion building offers fine acoustical capabilities for achieving the desired sound level for bands, concerts, speeches, etc. The stage has a professional DJ system, large-band sized speaker system and a fairly elaborate theater/disco suspended lighting system. Various configuration of stage and banquet floor microphones and we have a karaoke system available as well. A large dance floor area is easily sectioned off directly in front of the stage.
Let us know if you need a DJ service and we will supply our vendor list. We also work with a talent agency who can supply national and local stage acts such as comedians, magicians, musical groups, bands, murder mystery nights and speakers addressing a variety of topics. We have the usual audio visual equipment for your use but please note that due to the natural light levels inside the Pavilion during the daylight hours, visual aids may be somewhat difficult to see clearly. There is even a phone line (audio or data-credit card machines) and wireless internet access throughout the building if you need it. The building is also equipped with PA system for your convenience. The Pavilion also has 3Ph-240 power and forklift service available for your larger equipment if needed.
Inside the Pavilion we have a large elevated mezzanine with seating looking down on the events floor and stage. This area has two bleacher seating areas and tables and chairs and is very suitable for viewing sports events on the field as well as concerts and events on the stage. The mezzanine will hold about 250 people and the main floor seating can approach 1250 +/-.
Underneath the mezzanine you’ll find the locker/party rooms which are used for smaller group events like birthday parties and also as accessory use rooms for large events in the Pavilion. There is also an events coat check area for your guests to use.
Attached to the main Pavilion events building is the 3600 sq. ft. support building containing the main counter, offices, restrooms (5 male and 7 female with baby changing tables), showers (unisex), food service/vending areas, catering kitchen, arcade, lounge seating with big screen TV viewing (cable with full channel selection) and wireless internet access. Bring your laptop- We are a wireless access facility (even in the bleachers). Our vending area has the typical soda’s, sports drinks, candy/health bars and other items. Our food service usually runs on the sports league nights and offers pizza, pretzels, nachos, hot dogs, etc. This foodservice area could also be provided for your event’s food service needs- just inquire.
Upon your guests arrival to the Pavilion they may drop-off at our covered front porch area and then proceed around the building to our ample paved and lighted parking area. We also have an outside marquee at the entrance to our facility on M-57 which may be used to announce your event.
This is a view of the two professional quality sand volleyball courts at the Pavilion. The courts are available to use for free if you desire them. Many of our event parties like company picnics and family reunions use the courts. Next to the courts is a small outside play area for children.
The Pavilion has the capability to host many types of events. Anything you commonly see at a party or event we have a contact for, even the unusual things. For events like high school senior mystery trip parties you’d be surprised at what we can offer. From inflatables to rock climbing walls just ask! We also allow you to decorate the Pavilion facility with whatever type of props & decorations you desire and we allow flexible pre-event set-up times.
