It started out to be an idea for a building to keep people sheltered from the sometimes questionable September & October weather during their visit to the Klackle Orchards Family Fun Farm for the fall apple & pumpkin harvest season. Today, Pavilion Sports & Events has evolved into a multi-purpose building hosting many types of events and sports. The building’s uniqueness itself makes it stand out on the M-57 highway west of Greenville.
When approaching, it’s location is also marked by our large American Flag flying 100 ft. in the air. We’ve been told it’s the largest in the mid-Michigan area. The building itself is a 25,000 sq. ft. tension fabric structure which is essentially an aluminum framework covered with a dual layer of translucent architectural fabric membranes that has affectionately been referred to as the “dome”. For us here at Klackle Orchards and the Pavilion, it’s proven to be a cost effective way to bring the outdoors game or activity into an indoor environment. Before building we actually researched and asked some members of the greater Greenville community what they thought was needed in the way of a large sports and events center and the Pavilion is the result.
One issue that arose in our community research was that Greenville had no rental hall that could hold large community events and a larger wedding reception party. So we built it! Now we host community expo’s, home shows, gun shows, circus acts, small concerts & dance acts, religious gatherings, non-profit events, banquets, reunions, wedding receptions, company picnics, and more. We are the only facility in this area that can seat upwards of 750 people with a catered meal served (sit-down or buffet), a full-service catered bar and room for a stage with professional light and sound system. Theres also the dance floor to go with it and even room left over! We’ve hosted groups as large as 2000 at a meal and the community events attract near 5000.
